PURPOSE
Educational Philosophy
The Weekday Early Education Center seeks to develop the whole child: physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, morally and spiritually through leaning activities and guidance that are age appropriate.
History
The church WEE program was begun in September 1964, for ages two through Kindergarten. In 1982, it was expanded to include a “Mother’s Day Out” program. The kindergarten classes were discontinued in 1986. The WEE Center program was expanded in 1989, to include a full time day care for ages six weeks to four years. The program includes Holiday and Summer care for ages five through twelve.
Registration
The WEE Center operates on a non-profit basis and is financially supported by the budget of the First Baptist Church. The Center includes a full time daycare for ages six weeks to four year old. The safety of your child is important to us. All students must be signed in and out and should be walked into the center. Picture I.D. is required for a child to leave the center with anyone listed on the centers transportation sheet. Special permission is required from the parents to anyone not listed on the transportation sheet.
The WEE Center follows the St. Charles Parish Public School calendar and is open Monday- Friday from 6am – 6pm except major holidays. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8am- 5pm. Messages will be taken before and after these hours. Note that in the event of severe weather conditions or man-made disasters, the center may be closed. In this situation, if the public schools are closed, the WEE Center will be closed.
Registration begins in March before the fall term and continues until all places are filled. Children placed on waiting list are added as openings become available.
